Sushi for dinner!
I LOVE being married to someone who enjoys sea food as much as I do!
I didn't get it often while growing up - since my mom and more than half my sibs don't like it.
Today was crazy busy! [hence the lame food pic]
School all day, errands, and then back to school for my night class & a pile of hw to do!

And what possibly possessed me to take it!
I always find myself editing photos or updating my blog whenever I sit down to hash it out.
It's ridiculous.
I have the attention span of a goldfish and a list of infinite things I'd rather be doing.

Sometimes you need to stand back and breathe.
Another full day of creativity today.
After school [4 pm] I went home and started working on photos - I was able to finish all of Nick and Heidi's engagements and post them on my website blog
[they were all so cute I just couldn't stop editing!]
On top of that I contacted a few people to follow up with them about upcoming shoots, set a time and place to shoot my doc hw, tackled a few hw assignments for math and updated picture of the day.
- It's a very creatively draining process -
A good light writing photo always calms me down.
I have to anticipate ever stroke I make before I click the shutter.
It helps me slow down and organize what I need to do.
Which transitions beautifully into real life. :)

My day was completely absorbed by photography.
My only class today was Documentary Photography.
I spent the rest of the day editing photos from various shoots.
I scheduled/planned out my upcoming shoots this weekend.
As well as dove into my doc photo assignment and recruited models.
I absolutely loved it.

Love is in the air :)
Today I drove Nick and Heidi all over the valley to take their engagements!
They have literally SO many good ones!
I've been editing them non stop since I uploaded them on to my computer.
I don't know how they're going to chose the few that they want on their invites!

This photo is just so cute!
Nick and I are cousins and we grew up together -
when I see this photo his face reminds me so much of when we were growing up and he would get so excited, whether it was over a new snake or frog we caught or getting ready for our "pine cone wars" in Grammy and Bapa Harold's backyard.
I'm so glad he found someone who is just as awesome and fun as he is - and the reason for this face being a permanent fixture.
Welcome to our crazy family Heidi!

But when I logged in to take a picture for "Picture of the Day" I saw that I was BACK DOWN TO ONLY 499!
Someone is a jerk! haha [even though it's kinda funny]

Danny + Whitney Day!
After school [11 am] Danny picked me up and we went out to eat an early lunch and run a few errands around town.
We came home and spent the rest of the day catching up on shows, editing photos and trimming/carving plates on the wheel.
[with a nap thrown in too]
It was such a nice lazy day!
Back to the grind tomorrow!

Date Night!
Triple date to dinner and a [stupid] Jazz vs T Wolves game with the sibs
[the Jazz lost btw - shocker]
But it was still way fun to hang out with my sisters and brothers in law

Today was crazy busy!
After getting roughly four hours of sleep Danny and I were back on the plane home
I was able to do my photo assignment on a flight attendant - photographing her where she was on September 11th [you can see/read it here]
Once we landed, Robby picked us up and we saw two 40 min movies in the IMAX theater at the Gateway
In between movies we got lunch at Rumbi's
Then it was off to shoot another photo assignment.
This project was called the "dime project"
Everyone in my class flipped a dime on a map of Utah County and wherever the dime landed was where we had to go and find a story.
I got some random lakeside in Saratoga Springs.
The lake was completely frozen over!
This pic is of Danny and I in the middle of the lake with Mt Timp in the background.

Universal Studios!
We got to meet Megatron!
He was so funny!
When we got up there he started to say "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away..." and then when he saw Danny's jersey he said, "number 18, there are 17 that are better than you." haha and while we waited for Jon to grab a picture he said "I see princess Lea and Jar Jar Binks are still here."
We got to meet Optamus Prime too, but he wasn't as funny.
After Universal Studios we took all the kids to eat at this western themed restaurant.
All the kids were glued to the TV to watch the Seahawks vs 49ers football game.
There was a mechanical bull in the middle of the place.
The kids wanted to ride it - but you had to be 18 years old.
So they started chanting Danny's name.
My crazy husband rode the mechanical bull!
It looked fun and he held on for a long time!
The entire restaurant echoed with 54 kids chanting Danny's name :)
He totally loved it!
then we all had free time to shop at City Walk.
Last day on the tour.
We all said our goodbyes to those of us who were leaving early and tried to get some sleep.
What a great tour and bunch of kids! It was so fun to see those from San Fran and to meet new friends!

Santa Monica Pier!
This is really one of my fav places in Cali!
I just love it - and long exposures!
I was able to catch a falling star in this pic! So rad!
The kids got in today and Danny and I were at home base in the hotel while Jon and Brian sent them on the shuttle to us.
We were their entertainment for a few hours [poor kids]
We taught them how to play Duck-Duck-Goose, the Moose game and Down by the Banks
When everyone was finally here we did the walk of fame and ended our night with dinner on the pier and free time!

LA BABY!
Danny, Jon, Brian and I all flew into LA to get ready for the ETC kids to get in tomorrow
[I really love it when we fly to parts of the country that aren't covered in snow!]
We planned ahead and got tickets to see Jimmy Kimmel Live!
If you watch carefully when they pan the audience you can see us!
It was so awesome! My first time going to anything like this!
The guests were Chris Pine [from Star Trek and Princess Diaries II] and Kevin O'Leary [from Shark Tank]
We finished up our night by hitting up Cafe Rio for Jon ;)
The kids start getting in tomorrow and then the LA tour has officially started!

After we were both done with school Bekah came over and we played for a few hours!
We had fun catching up with each other - Especially while I packed! Danny and I are headed to LA tomorrow to chaperone another trip with the ETC kids!

I might've over done it yesterday..
I've been feeling pretty under the weather for the past few days.
I spent the day chugging cough syrup and counting the hours until the next round of IB's
It turns out that even though I don't live with my siblings, when they get sick, I still catch it!

Ahhhh! We're trapped in a claw machine!
Best day ever!!
Amanda and Josh came up from Cedar for drill.
We took advantage of being all together -
Anna, Amanda and I all went out to breakfast at Kneaders.
After that Amanda and I took Anna shopping and got her baby stuff she needed!
Anna had a wedding to go to so Manny and I played until Josh got off.
We all met up for dinner with our hubs at Red Robbins!
When dinner was over we all went bowling for an hour.
It was so great to see everyone! I can't wait until our next triple date!

When we got home tonight Danny gave me a surprise!
He said he wouldn't be able to hide this very well for my birthday, so I could have part of my birthday present now.
Since we can't have pets, maybe I'll be able to get some friends to come live on our porch!

Today was so busy with school and homework
[not to mention my once a week {required} night class]
I had about ten minutes free time to snap this photo before I ran over to Rite Aid to pick him up from work.
I'm always a fan of long exposures - I think there is something so cool and magical about being able to see something so clearly and vibrantly, despite it being pitch black out.

Danny and I had a nice day running errands after class - we even got to finish our books!
We've been reading a series together.
I just finished the last book in the trio and Danny conquered the middle one!

Ice Castles in Midway!
After school was out Danny picked me up and we drove to pick up Charlene, [a friend from work] and made our way up the canyon to Midway!
We explored the icy castle and took lots of pictures.
We lucked out in getting there before the sun set so we could see it in the daylight and as dusk quickly fell we were able to experience the lights!
[It's up until March if anyone wants to go]
After we had explored every inch of the place we drove down through Heber and stopped at Dairy Keen and had yummy burgers and shakes.
We headed home shortly after - not a bad day if you ask me ;)

FSU won the National Championship!
Today was my first day of school.
My schedule is really hard on Mondays/Wednesdays - Only one class in the morning [Doc Photography] and that is over with by 10:30.
So Danny and I ate a light lunch and caught a 1 o'clock showing of "Saving Mr. Banks"
[so good btw]
Then we ran errands, got danny some more clay and Drove to Bill and Min's to watch the game. Crazy kiddos!

Sunday dinner with the crew and Nick + Heidi came up as well!
They had a little leech/shadow/5 year old hovering over them the whole night.

I finally was able to drag Robert out of the house to take some more senior pictures.
[We tried some back in the fall but I was too frazzled and stressed from shooting my family pictures that they weren't up to par]
Despite it being absolutely freezing, we got some awesome shots!

Rexburg or Bust!
Today I had the pleasure of waking up at 3:45 am in order to get to Salt Lake in time to leave for Rexburg with Tianna and her friend at 5 am.
We had a long day as we drove 4 hours there, helped Ti unload her stuff and swing by my fav place to eat in the Sexy Rexy; Gator Jacks!
Being there brought back so many memories!
We said our goodbyes and drove back to Salt Lake, making it to Danny's mom's house by 3 pm.
It was fun, but boy are we going to sleep well tonight!

We spent all day playing with the kids, babysitting Lynds and Sammy and squeezing in a few games with Rich and Sarah!
It was a nice, calm day after the busy ones we've been having! 

Picture of the Day: 2014

Well hello there and happy New Year! For those of you who have followed me on Facebook, this is where I'll be posting my "Picture of the day" from now on. For those who are new, I'll recap; As 2010 was drawing to a close, I started thinking of New Years Resolutions I could claim - But I wanted something that I could actually do, y'know? Not like the standard "lose X amount of lbs" or whatever other cliche goals that are set this time of year. I came to the conclusion to take a photograph every day for the entire year. It made perfect sense, come January 3rd I'd be moving out of the house for the first time and heading off to school at BYU-I. And so, my New Years Resolution was born, aka "Picture of the Day." And here I am, 4 years later still going strong. I have yet to miss a day and don't plan on it. I hope you enjoy a sneak peak into this crazy photog's life.

Today is the first day of the New Year!
As with tradition, on the first day of the new year I always take one of these kind of "mirror pictures"
It's what "18-year old Whitney" thought would be cool to do - And since I am a creature of habit, this is the 4th mirror photograph I have taken to ring in the new year.
"2014 - 365 days of new Adventures!"
