April 5th, 2017 Poor Scouty had quite the day. The kids had all went fishing yesterday and left their poles out on the deck. Only a few of them remembered to unbait and store their hook properly. Danny got up to take the dogs on a walk and when he got back, he let them wander around the property. Next thing I know is Danny is calling me and telling me that Scout has a fish hook stuck in her muzzle. She had tried to eat the power bait. Luckily for us she was pretty calm and only started freaking out if we tugged at the hook. It was in there good. The only thing we could do was take Scout to the Vet ER. I stayed with Jones and Indy while Danny drove Scout into town. Luckily for us, Florence is a fishing town and they see this stuff all the time. Scout had to be put under to remove the hook. She did so well! The vet couldn't believe how calm she was, since the muzzle is the most sensitive part on a dog. They called us when it was time to go pick her up, and this time, Jones and I came too. We went to pick her up and all the Vet techs had to come say goodbye to Scout, she has quite the fan club now. The hardest part of the whole ordeal was keeping Scout down to rest! Once that hook was out she was ready to go! Luckily Indy is very persuasive about nap time. The rest of the day was spent playing games and taking it easy. |
